Two must do attractions when visiting Whitehorse, Yukon:
Copperbelt Railway & Mining Museum
Located on the Alaska Highway, approximately 2 km north of the Whitehorse Airport, the Copperbelt Railway and Mining Museum is an 8 hectare (20 acre) Theme Park built on the very site of one of the early copper claims. The Society is mandated to the restoration and preservation of the mining and railway history of the area. A train ride through the park allows the visitor to appreciate the rich history of the area’s Copper Belt while enjoying the nature of the boreal forest setting.
Whitehorse Waterfront Trolley
In 1900, the White Pass and Yukon Route narrow gauge railway reached Whitehorse. In 2000, rail was being used on the Whitehorse Waterfront once again with the introduction of the Waterfront Trolley service. Presenting numerous opportunities to visit many of the downtown Whitehorse attractions, enjoy this unique ride along the banks of the mighty Yukon River in a restored 1925 Trolley car.
